If you travel by train and have a habit of littering inside it, then try to correct it, otherwise get ready to be caught and fined.
Remember it too that the fine amount might be more than the price of the railway ticket you purchase for your train journey.
This has come out in a tweet shared by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) authority on its Twitter handle on Monday.
In the tweet, the NFR authority has informed that a total of 1,818 people have been slapped with fines for littering in trains in the current year.
From the passengers having habit of littering inside trains, the NFR has collected a total amount of Rs 3,65,895.
Following the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the railway authorities have also stressed on cleanliness.
Informing about the collection of fines, the NFR on its Twitter handle stated on Monday, “1818 persons have been fined for littering in trains and stations in the current year Rs 365895 collected as fine.”
Cautioning the passengers to avoid the habit of littering, the NFR authority has urged the people, who travel by trains, to correct themselves rather than paying fines.
The NFR authority has also appealed to the passengers to help them keep railways clean.

Please help us keep railways clean,” the NFR further tweeted while sharing an image.
